Bad news time :mad:

I had to fix some things in my house and so I couldn't make a lot of progress to the build.

I wanted to finish it this week, because since tomorrow, I'll have to attend compulsory army for 4 months...
I'll surely have a weekend or two off, but I won't advance much in the build.

So I'm really sorry to announce you that the build is suspended until the end of the army (perhaps 1 or 2 small updates will come since then)

With a working CPU on it, all of this found in the waste center      

 

Took the heatsinsk off the motherboard, and also took the ugly Gigabyte decoration off it

Also found a XFX 6790, working like it was new. I don't really know it's performance, I am actually more on the "Green Side". But a french proverb say: "Only a donkey won't change his mind even one time" (bad traduction...)

Another thing I've discovered, a nice looking soundcart, perfectly working

Found 8GB of 1600MHz Corsair XMS DDR3 RAM! 

Some heatsinks from the old PowerMac G5 I'll be using

One of the first AIO water-cooling loop sold within the PC, back on 2005!!! Apple had impressive stuff... The 2 Dual-Core PowerPC 2.5GHz processors are on it. The PowerMac G5 Was so powerful back then that it was forbidden to sell it on USA's enemies (Irak, Korea, etc)

Alphacool MCX RAM coolers and other pieces, to make my own radiator

The Standart CPU cooler of the non-watercooled PowerMac G5 (using it for the homemade radiator)

Blower-style Delta fan, also from the old PowerMac G5 (PWM FANS!)

The EKWB Supreme LTX I received from a friend

Modding PCs is a hobby that sucks a lot of money. Being a student, I don't really have a lot of money to spend.
So for this mod, don't expect a lot of overkill components.
One of my friends is working in a waste disposable (Swiss people sort their waste). Electronic waste is growing, also because of the growing number of people that owns electronic stuff.
Anyway, back on the topic! Everyday evening during 2 weeks, I was visiting this electronic waste center, hoping to find some stuff I can further use. My patience was worth the time spender in the waste center! I was able to find more than 150 working electronic pieces, including 4 Eheim 1048 water pumps, a lot of 120 rads, some weird waterblocks (HDD, CPU, RAM, GPU, MB, etc), more than 2 kilo of fittings and 2-3 reservoirs. But most importantly, I found pretty good electronic components that was in perfect shape.

All of this to say one thing: the majority of this build was found in a waste center, so no costs for it!
