Three weeks since last update, i am really sorry for that!
Theese past three weeks i've been thinking: Anodize or a regular paint job, brush all the aluminum or not? You could say i've been thinking theese past 3 weeks
I am happy to say that right now i am in a flow - things are starting to get into place and it feels great!

I have a question to you. Do you like to watch livestreams of computer moding/building? Please let me know!
Enough talking, more photos!

"Fångad av en stormvind" Caputed by a lovestorm (https://youtu.be/_S3YFhlEakg?t=1m49s) - No more resistance for the fans! Well. except for the dust filter ofc. And the video.. It's complicated, Something about wind - and fans and well.. Guess you understand if you are from sweden

Not verry round.. I'd rather go to small then to big thoug. The roundness is made by the help of a rasp.
Resized Image
The "floor" will be covered by this plate and painted matte black. As you can see i have to go at it with the rasp again. I need to get a Dremel...

Resized Image
All the panels that are to be painted matte black have been brushed. Just a light brushing to get some texutre. This one will go into the right chamber, cover the motherboard midplate and some cables.

Resized Image
The aluminium plates and the frame, all brushed and cleaned. Ready for painting! This was a long evening in the workshop.

Until next time!

A bit hard to find this part of the forums, and that's a shame since this project will be epic! Keep it up!

Hey guys,

Here's the work I did on the front panel mod.

The piece is 1.2mm aluminum and what I used for the cutting is a Dremel Moto-Saw as you can see from the pictures. It's like a mini portable scroll saw, very handy and really good for the price.

Resized Image

I drilled small holes in the panel first so that I can begin the cutting with the scroll saw.

Resized Image

Bit of a learning curve with this but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. And it cut through this aluminum panel with no effort at all.

Resized Image

As you can see, the vinyl is my guide.

Resized Image

Here all the cutting was done and it was time for the filing to make it nice, smooth and even

I cut the corners same shape as the windows, gave it a scuff everywhere and it was done.

Resized Image

The whole thing took me about 3 hours to do. Now to get it sprayed!

Resized Image

I think it came out looking awesome and was surprised how easy it was to cut it once I got the hang of the scroll saw.

The Dremel Moto-Saw will definitely come in handy from now on, I wonder how it will do on some steel or thicker panels.

Let me know what you guys think?

Cheers,

Alex

Wow, great precision in that tool, thought you needed some more advanced machines, what's the thickness of the alu?

GJ!

Now that you get a larger case, time to change the cpu cooler?

The Air 240 kind of doesn't really offer enough space to install a proper tower cooler. You're almost forced to use an all-in-one or custom watercooling if you want really good cooling.

Thought of, maybe, a top-downer? Have not read the log fully, but you is it OCed?
I am a bit allergic to AIOs but I have to admit that the build always looks clean with it!

I will re-paint the whole inside of the case. It was semi matte, i want i matte matte . I'll also have to paint all the aluminium plates that will go inside the case.
I also got some hardware incomming! Look forward to some hardwarepr0n soon!

How do you like the new style of the photos? Think i'll stick to this with future product updates!

Nice update, I admire who is able to play so easly with metal stuff..I'm sure I could cut all myself and lost some fingers

Well... I almost cut an eye out when trying to bend a plate, hehe. But I just got a scratch
I tried to clamp the plate to the table, the I started bending with my hands, and the force pulled the plate from the clamp and flew away! Guess all that dead lifting in the gym gave me something

Update 3 - Metal

This week is all about Metal. Metal and even more metal, saw and bend, even CNC, laser and water to cut metal.
This was the first time i worked with metal. It was alot easier to saw in metal then what i excpected but it was much harder to bend it. Without proper tools the result is mediocer, it's hard to get sharp angles. I had to get some help, Thank you Alex for helping me bend the Aluminium, you saved me alot of swearing, blood and sweat ;)
I still have alot more sawing and bending to do, but that will have to wait. Right now i have to mount theese plates to see how they fit with eachother.

Untreated surfce - still alot of work to do.This plate will be mounted on above the PSU. Cover the motherboard plate and cables.

Resized Image
This is only for starters. Aluminium for the right chamber only.

A big thank you to Justin aka Metallic Acid for helping me acquire the aluminium.
