Antec’s original ‘hundred’ chassis series was a huge success. Many years of market domination were achieved by the popular Three Hundred, Nine Hundred and Twelve Hundred cases. With over a decade of service between them, that supremacy has come to an end. A series update was required. Can Antec’s new flagship replicate the success of its predecessors?

Starting off our series of case reviews is a mid-tower gaming case from RAIDMAX. While they're probably not one of the first brands you'd think of (at least in the North American market), RAIDMAX has been around since 1988. Branding themselves as a budget-gaming oriented company, we'll be looking at their Raptor case to see if it fits this mould. With a flashy and sleek design, the Raptor looks the part, but we'll see if it's worthy for your gaming rig build.

We've reviewed many Home Theater cases over the years at OCModShop. Some of them have multimedia features that are seamlessly integrated with the case, while many others are nothing more than standard desktop cases with a fancy front panel. There are several cases I have owned that were awesome, but converting them into Home Theater cases would have been way more trouble than it would be worth. If only there was a way to implement an awesome display and media controls into any case ...

Back up the truck: I received the OtterBox 8000 Series Waterproof Case just in time for a camping trip. Although small in size (the 8000 Series case is meant for GPS units, cameras, sunglasses, etc.), I was able to pack around quite a few small objects (like matches, camera, iTouch) locked securely inside of it. During this trip, the case was subjected to a lot of abuse, considering what a klutz I am by nature. I dropped it from my belt while mountain biking, sloshed it in a stream, smashed it with a cooler, and still it survived another day.

I am a case snob. The cases I like are brushed aluminum, have removable motherboard trays, neatly rolled edges, finished interiors, cable management, and so forth. They have SATA backplanes and mounts for triple-120 radiators. A certain degree of style doesn't hurt, either. Of course cases like this are expensive, but since I have to look at them all day, I figure they're worth it. In this article, Benchmark Reviews inspects the NZXT M59 Mid-Tower computer case, which at a suggested retail price of $59.99 is hardly in the milieu I'm become accustomed to. Will the design flair evident in NZXT's $400 Khaos gaming case be in evidence here? Let's see.
