Conclusion

General   + -
With the EAH6970 ASUS definitely has an intereseting card in its protfolio. Considering the cards price, performance overclocking potential it really leaves a good impression. Only regarding the power consumption we would have wished that it was as efficient as the Radeon HD 5870/5850 have been, but with a maximum of 250 Watts dissipation power it isn't excatly economic.   - 2D-Very silent

Delivery   + -
The delivery of the ASUS EAH 6970 is quite poor. In the box you find everything you need to setup the card appropriately. What you would be looking for in vain is a HDMI adaptor or a game. There is just, a power adaptor cable, a manual, a installation CD and a CrossFire bridge.
- No game included - No adaptor included

Performance   + -
Regarding performance the ASUS EAH6970 is able to show significantly higher numbers then its predecessor the Radeon HD 5870. Unfortunately it is by quite a margin not able to match the performance of its arch rival the GTX580. Concerning our benchmark parcours the only test where the EAH6970 was faster than the GTX580 was Resident Evil 5. Looking at Futuremark 11 and Futuremark Vantage results the EAH6970 turns out to be a really quick card, but it again the it doesn't play in the same league as the GTX580.

Overclocking   + -
Included in the bundle you get the software ASUS Smartdoctor, using which you can adjust the GPU voltage as well as gpu and memory frequency. It has been possible to run 3DMark Vantage and 3DMark 11 with 1'001 MHz on the GPU and 6'016 MHz on the memory. Therefore overclockig this card really was fun. Especially the memory is remarkable.   - Overclocking GPU 1'001 MHz / Mem 6'016 MHz

Recommendation   + -
If you should be looking for the fastest AMD graphics cards available at the moment then the ASUS EAH6970 definitely is a good choice. If you also tend to overclock your graphics card then this thing will be a lot of fun, especially its memory is almost unbelievable.   - High-End Gaming

The ASUS EAH6970 can be bought at Digitec to a price of CHF 429.- (est. EUR 306.-).
