Overclocking

For our overclocking test we were using GPU TweakIt which allows you to increase voltages and clock frequencies. Feeding the GPU with the maximum voltage of 1.50 Volt resulted in a maximum clock speed of 956 MHz on the GPU. Regarding the memory we were able to squeeze 4'128 MHz out of these chips. The true overclocking potential you'll discover once you choose to cool this card using liquid nitrogen. For this purpose you can remove the different protection mechanisms like overcurrent- and overheat-protection.
Until today we were using ASUS' SmartDoctor utility to overclock their GPUs. TweakIt is a new tool and it comes with some additional features as well as with the typical ROG looks which means it fits perfectly the the ROG version of CPU-z. Regarding additional feateres there is for example the possibility to record videos. Furthermore GPU clock and GPU voltage are linked by default. This means that when you increase the voltage the clock speed will be increased too. Especially for beginners this is a nice feature. With this software you can even optimize the memory timings. What we also liked, was the monitoring part of the software which dispalys, GPU temperature, memory temperature, power temperature, board temperature as well as GPU load. Especially for extreme overclocking this can be important information.
