Very recently, we took a look at new memory offers from Crucial, G.Skill and Kingston. Going by manufacturers one by one allows us to have a good overview of the memory market and today we are going to have a look at ADATA's contendor. The first kit we are going to review is the fastest one from the manufacturer belonging to their Gaming Series.

First of all some words about ADATA itself, ADATA is a company who is not aiming extreme memory speeds, they are looking to provide the best quality possible instead. Let's take a look at the specifications below.

Manufacturer ADATA
Series XPG Gaming Series V2.0
Part Number AX3U2400GC4G10-DG2
Type DDR3
Capacity 8 GB (2 x 4GB)
Frequency 2'400 MHz
Timings 10-12-12-31
VDIMM 1.65 Volt
Registred/Unbuffered Unbuffered
ECC No
Cooling Passive Heatspreader
Waranty Lifetime warranty
Package Type Plastic Blister

Like we already said this kit is the fastest one they have in their current lineup, one might say DDR3-2400 is slow compared to G.Skill or Team Group's offers that go up to DDR3-3000 but remember even Ivy Bridge's integrated memory controller start to struggle at DDR3-2400 for the vast majority. So offering higher rated memory will only target a very few of us, even our processor which has one of the best integrated controller in the world can't do more than DDR3-2666 400 % stable.
On the other hand timings are quite tight for the rated speed which will for sure allow any end user to raise the speed up if you find that DDR3-2400 is too shy.

I have the DDR3-2000 C9 versions of these with the same ICs; oddly enough they appear to be about the same level of binning as they can do 2400 10-12-12 with 1.65v easily. The nice thing is that ADATA warrants these up to 1.75v so we have a lot of room to overclock "legally"
