Plextor has shown their M8V SSDs series, which are based on 3D-NAND Flash memory. The M8V drives are available with 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacity. The drive will be available in two form factors: 7 mm-thick 2.5-inch and M.2-2280.

Another player in the Samsung space

NVMe capable SSDs are growing increasingly popular these days, offering much higher transfer speeds than your usual SATA drive. A few months ago Plextor unveiled the M8Se NVMe SSD and now the company is ready to unveil another quick SSD.

Up to 256GB capacity

Plextor has shown their S3G SSDs series, which are based on Hynix’s 14nm TLC NAND Flash memory. The S3G drives are available with 128GB and 256GB capacity. All the S3G SSDs come with a M.2 2280 form factor, which makes them suitable for ultrabooks as well.

Plextor is one of those having presented their new M8Se NVMe SSD during CES 2017.

Still coming in August

While we already wrote about Plextor's upcoming M8Pe NVMe SSD earlier, today we have some more details regarding the actual price of the drive, which suggest it will be one of the cheapest SSDs around.

Jumps the NVMe bandwagon as well

It appears that Plextor is not far from launching their first NVMe SSDs. In mid August, most likely during Gamescom, Plextor is going to show their new M8PE solid state drives, which should feature some impressive performance numbers.

Based on Marvell 88SS1093 controller

At the Computex 2016 show, Plextor has officially announced its new M8Pe SSD lineup that will offer some impressive performance and be available in HHHL PCIe and M.2 form-factors as well as capacities ranging from 128GB to 1TB.

Available in 128, 256 and 512GB capacities

Plextor has announced a successor to its value-oriented M6V series solid-state drives, the new M7V SSD lineup which will be available in both 2.5-inch and M.2 form-factors, with SATA 6Gbps interface, and based on Marvel controller paired up with Toshiba NAND.

Marvell controller with Toshiba 15nm MLC NAND

Plextor has unveiled an updated version of its M6S SSD series which will still be based on Marvell's dual-core controller but use a new generation Toshiba 15nm MLC NAND.

The companies new value SSD

With their M6V Plextor has a new value SSD in its portfolio. These drives feature a SATA-III 6Gbps interface, 16nm Toggle NAND flash memory from Toshiba and 7mm, 2.5 inch caseing. Apart from that there are also M.2 as well as mSATA drives available.

To be named M6V

According to latest rumors from Hermitage Akihabara it looks like Plextor is going to launch a new line of SATA SSDs. The drives will go by the name M6V and they're supposed to launch on the 17th of July. These SSDs will be based on a controller, which comes from Silicon Motion.

Following the M6e SSD

During the 2015 CES in Las Vegas, Plextor introduced a new version of its M.2 PCIe SSD, the M6e Black Edition. In addition to this one, Plextor also showcased the new M7e SSD that should be available soon as well.

In 128, 256 and 512GB capacities

Plextor has announced its latest flagship PCI-Express based solid state drive aimed at enthusiasts, the M6e Black Edition.

The M6e M.2 PCIe Gen2 x2 SSD

Plextor has expanded its M6e SSD range with addition of the M6e M.2 PCIe Gen2 x2 SSD based on M.2 PCIe 2280 form-factor.

Marvell controller and Toshiba 19nm NAND

Plextor has announced that its M6S solid state drive, equipped with Marvell controller and Toshiba 19nm NAND is now available in Europe as well.

Powerful mSATA SSD

Plextor have announced they're launching their new M6M mSATA SSD, which should be capable of offering high sequential read and write speeds as well as excellent random transfer rates. Thanks to its small form factor the drive is most suitable for ultra-thin notebooks, NUC-style PC, or even tablets.

In 2.5-inch, mSATA and PCIe form-factors

Plextor has announced that it will be bringing and unveiling its new M6 solid state drive lineup at the upcoming CeBIT 2014 show which should kick off in Hannover, Germany on 10th of March. The new Plextor M6 series SSD lineup will be available in 2.5-inch, mSATA and M.2 PCI-Express form-factors.

PCIe with M.2 SSD

Already last year Plextor announced their new M6 Series SSD, where there were models with M.2 Formfactor. Since these drives are capable of hitting performance limitations set by the SATA-III interface, Plextor came up with a solution for that. It looks like the manufacturer placed the drive on a PCI-Express card and the controller is capable of letting a UEFI BIOS know that this is actually a boot device.

M.2, 2.5 inch and mSATA

Plextor has been able to come up with quite a few really good SSDs in the past years. Performance as well as reliability with their drives was always on a highly competitive level. Now the company launches their sixth generation of solid state drives - M6 Series.
