Samsung expects to ship 35 million Galaxy S5s in Q2

High hopes for the new flagship

According to The Korea Times, Samsung expect to ship a total of 35 million Galaxy S5 smartphones between April and June, or Q2. The new expectations come as a result of strong sales achieved during the worldwide launch.

If it manages to reach expectations, Samsung can expect more than US $16.3 billion of revenue in Q2, just from the Galaxy S5. Various analysts appear to believe that Samsung can achieve such high sales numbers and has adjusted the Q2 earnings prediction for Samsung.

Of course, shipped and sold number of devices are two rather different things and according to the same report from The Korea Times, Samsung has shipped around 63 million Galaxy S4 smartphone but only sold 40 million of them.

Samsung has yet to officially announce and comment sales targets for its latest Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone.
