Cooler Master announces MasterWatt power supplies

Affordable prices

During CES 2017 Cooler Master has shown a new series of power supplies targeting budget PCs. With the MasterWatt Lite series Cooler Master offers 80Plus certified units with wattages ranging from 400W to 700W. Since these units are made for users that are on a tight budget you will not find any advanced features such as modular cables.

The Cooler Master MasterWatt Lite series features four different models. There is a 400W, a 500W, a 600W and a 700W unit and as we already mentioned they’re all non-modular. Apart from that those PSUs have been 80Plus certified offering efficiencies of up to 85 percent. All units measure 150 x 140 x 86 millimeters (L x D x H) and they’ve been equipped with a single 120mm fan.Apparently there is also the usual protection circuitry on board. Therefore you find OCP, OVP, OPP, OTP and SCP protection.

The MasterWatt Lite series is expected to be become available within the next two weeks. The suggested retail prices are 39,99 Euro, 49,99 Euro, 59,99 Euro, and 64,99 Euro for the 400W, 500W, 600W and 700W model respectively.

Those units are really cheap and we would only recommend buying such a product if you really can’t afford anything better. In the case of power supplies we always recommend products that meet high efficiency standards, such as 80Plus Gold and higher. This is a clear indicator that the manufacturer has been using quality components that last.
