Nvidia GTX 1070 3DMark performance revealed

Slightly faster than Titan X in FireStrike

We now have some of the first alleged performance details of the upcoming Geforce GTX 1070 graphics card which is, according to details, slightly faster than GTX Titan X in 3DMark FireStrike benchmark.

According to a report from Videocardz.com, the Geforce GTX 1070 should end up with pretty much the same clocks as the GTX 1080, around 1860 to 1870MHz.

In 3DMark FireStrike, the Geforce GTX 1070 ends up slightly faster than the GTX Titan X, GTX 980 Ti and the AMD Radeon Fury X, but with such a small performance difference, it is hard to tell if the GTX 1070 will offer the same level of performance in games as well.

Videocardz.com also did some overclocking and it the results, although not published, show that the overclocked GTX 1070 will not beat the GTX 1080 in synthetic benchmarks.

It also appears that thte GTX 1070 Founders Edition (reference) is also limited by power rather than temperature, which is in line with has been seen on the GTX 1080 as well, so custom graphics cards should do quite well, at least if Nvidia allows its AIB partners to make a completely custom PCB.

Earlier last week, Nvidia released official Geforce GTX 1070 specifications and the first graphics cards as well as reviews should be available on June 10th.
