Intel silently launches Core i7-6660U CPU

Skylake-U CPU

Intel has quietly added another mobile Skylake-U CPU to its price list, the Core i7-6660U.

Based on 14nm manufacturing technology, the new Core i7-6660U Skylake-U CPU should replace the Core i7-6650U and packs two CPU cores, 4MB of L3 cache and probably has support for Hyper Threading, just like the Core i7-6650U, which it should replace.

It also comes with a 200MHz higher CPU clock, set at 2.4GHz but there are no information regarding its overclocking capabilities.

The iGPU should be the same so we are looking at Intel Iris 540 iGPU as well as the same 15W TDP.

The Intel price list puts it at the same price as the Core i7-6650U, at US $415. The Core i7-6660U will probably appear in various notebooks and Ultrabooks pretty soon.
