MSI unveils new Vortex PC gaming system at CES 2016
Mac Pro inspired gaming system
MSI showed quite a few products during CES 2016 show but one that caught most of the attention as well as win the CES 2016 Innovation award, is the new Vortex gaming PC, a PC system that has a design similar to the Apple Mac Pro system.
In addition to the 27XT Gaming AiO with external graphics card box, MSI also unveiled another interesting and quite powerful gaming system at CES 2016 show, the Vortex. The MSI Vortex is a rather compact gaming system that uses a cylindrical design which is similar to the Apple Mac Pro system. The 6.5L cylindrical-shaped chassis also has a similar cooler, called the 360° Silent Storm Cooling design.
The MSI 360° Silent Storm Cooling is a center placed system which draws the air from the bottom of the case and pushes it over components and out through the top of the case, same as on the Mac Pro system. MSI has promised that this type of system will be able to cool some impressive hardware as well as be quiet, under 37dBA at full load.
According to the teaser video and some details released by MSI, the Vortex gaming PC system can be equipped with an Intel Core i7-6700K CPU and up to two GTX 980 graphics card in SLI, which should be enough for around 21000 points in 3DMark 11. Techgage.com had a chance to check out the Vortex during CES 2016 show and reports that the base configuration wil pack two Geforce GTX 960 graphics cards in SLI.
Unfortunately, a high-end configuration and that custom Vortex design come with a high price tag as the base configuration could cost around US $2,000 when it launches in March.
