Corsair Vengenace LPX DDR4-2800MHz 16GB - Unboxed

DDR4-2800MHz @ C16

Today we received a small package from Corsair, which contained a little box with new DDR4-2800MHz memory. Just yesterday we've shown an unboxing of upcoming DDR4 memory and today it's again time to bring you some more detailed footage on new sticks.

With their Vengenace LPX DDR4-2800MHz 16GB Corsair is launching a high-end kit. If we check on Overclockers.uk, who are already listing quite a bunch of DDR4 kits, we find this one to sell for 299£. Therefore also this kit is not cheap, but that's no surprise, considering the fact, that this is an entirely new DDR memory technology. Usually, until we see price parity with the previous generation it takes roughly half a year.

It's about time to have a little closer look at the kit itself. As we already pointed out this is a 16 GB CL16 kit. To be even more precise on the latency set, we find CL16-18-18-36 and in the case of voltage the DIMMs will run at 1.20 to 1.25 volt. As far as the heatspreader is concerned, it looks exactly the same like on Corsairs Vengeance LPX DDR3 modules. Other than that the kit is going to be available with black, red and blue heatspreader in order to blend in nicely with a wide variety of upcoming motherboards.

Availability should be given as soon as Intel has launched their upcoming Haswell-E platform. As we already mentioned, the modules are up for preoder on Overclockers.uk, but we believe, that after the launch prices are most likely to fall by quite a bit. In other words a little patience could potentially save you a few bucks.
