AMD releases Catalyst 14.7 RC

Crossfire improvements for a few games

AMD has released the new Catalyst 14.7 Release Candidate driver which brings a couple of Crossfire improvements for a few games as well as fixes some issues on a certain AOC monitor.

While not being a major AMD Catalyst driver update, the new AMD Catalyst 14.7 RC is quite important as it will not work on Windows 8 (WDDM 1.2) since AMD has discontinued support and expects you to update to Windows 8.1 (WDDM 1.3). Of course, it still supports both Windows Vista and Windows 7 and brings all the performance improvements and fixes from the Catalyst 14.6 RC version.

The new performance improvements are mostly focused on Crossfire, including Crossfire performance improvements for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare as well as improved CrossFire scaling at Ultra HD resolution for Assassins Creed IV.

The new Catalyst 14.7 RC also fixes issues for users running on AOC U2868PQU monitor who noticed flickering on Radeon GPUs.

As always, the new Catalyst 14.7 RC can be found at AMD's support web site via link below.
